My Love Story…
I believe in fabulous love stories. I love watching them, hearing them, writing them and telling them. My perfect love story began after a chance meeting on a Queensland beach more than 35 years ago...
Kev is my hero and we've been happily married for 33 years so I know that a never-ending love story takes never-ending patience (and a generous amount of laughter!). He presented me with a surprise re-set engagement ring for our 30th anniversary! I have no idea how he got away with getting that done without my noticing...but it’s gorgeous. I feel like a bit of a princess whenever I’m wearing it.
Our Crew includes our three gorgeous children.. Amelia is married to the gorgeous Alana and they have our much-adored grandson, Oliver; Kaitlin is engaged to her fabulous partner Matina; and our youngest is Jack. Amelia and Alana were married last year and I was a touch thrilled to say the least!
Plus, we’re fur parents to a corgi and a cat. The cat likes the dog...the dog is ambivalent 😂
Why I became a celebrant…
Did I mention how much I like to chat?! One day at work, I was acting as the narrator in a production when someone asked me whether I also worked as a marriage celebrant. Apparently I looked and sounded like one!
I couldn’t recall thinking about how the celebrants sounded when I had attended weddings, but I began to take notice. And yep...I sounded a lot like that 😂
I became determined that there was a perfect way to combine a love of hearing stories, telling stories and chatting that could be my dream. Being a marriage celebrant incorporates those along with laughter, hugs, cake and wine...I had found my happy place!
What I Do In My Spare Time…
I love hiking, things that make me laugh out loud, hugs and cake...I especially love cake! Oh, and wine...I really enjoy a glass of shiraz.
Reading and chatting are my favourite ways to pass time. I guess it all comes back to stories and how much I adore them.
